The socio-economic development of a country largely depends on the availability and consumption of energy. The available sources of energy can be classified into two categories viz., non-renewable and renewable. The non-renewable sources of energy are finite deposits of coal, natural gas, U235 and deuterium which are also called fossil fuels.

The renewable sources of energy are photosynthesis, solar energy, hydroelectric and tidal powers. In the renewable account energy is being deposited everyday whereas in the non-renewable account energy deposits are continuously depleted by our withdrawals.

PROCESS DESCRIPTION

  Collection yard: Bio waste is annually collected and conveyed through a trolley to the site, and dumped in the collection yard left for one day.
  Rasping and Mixing Tank: Here b is rasped slowly added with water and preparation of feed slurry for the digester. This tank is provided with a proprietary cow dung free enzymatic solution mixed for good seeding for the anaerobic process.
  Anaerobic Digester: In the anaerobic digester the mixed slurry is introduced in the bottom of the digester. The wastewater flows upward through a biologically formed granules or particles. Treatment occurs as the wastewater comes in contact with the granules. The gases produce under anaerobic conditions (principally CH4 & CO2) cause internal circulation, which helps in the formation & Maintenance of the biological granules. Initial pH of the wastewater is 6.8 pH but the treated water from the anaerobic digester is about alkaline range.
This change is due to biological action inside the digester. In this digester the solids carry over is minimized due to more retention time. Flow in side wastewater also reduced by providing perforated PVC pipes. Vertical velocity of the inlet effluent is very low. So that particles carry over is minimized

  Type of the food waste that can be added to biogas and cannot be added to biogas?
Domestic and Industrial food wastes come from food, vegetables, fish and meat products such as whey, potato mash, vegetable leftovers, brewer grains, apple marc, rice, daals rottis or any other biodegradable food waste.
  Can citrus food be added to biogas plants? If yes then what percentage/quantity can be added?
It can be added but, random checks should be done to make sure the pH value is normal as the methane-producing bacteria live best under neutral to slightly alkaline conditions.

  How much water should be added to maintain the PH level for methanogenesis stage?

  Is there any requirement of Cow dung?
No. ByoLight has developed proprietary enzymatic solution to replace cow dung. Hence we don't use cow dung.

  How much slurry comes out per tonne of waste?
20 to 30% of the input will get converted to slurry, which is a good fertilizer and can be used in gardens or farming.

  What will happen, if putting of raw material (food waste) is not regular? Will it affect the process?
It will impact the gas formation as Biogas is a mixture of both methane and carbon dioxide, which is created during anaerobic digestion of biodegradable food waste.

  Can garden waste like grass clippings or dry leaves be added to bigas plant?
No. It has to go for composting.

  What are the extra things to be checked other than just the food waste.
Make sure the inputs to biogas units are only biodegradable food waste.

  Does machine have any criteria of putting food waste like things should be well shredded in shredder before been put into the Machine?
